Harmony is a registered charity, charity number 1129290. Over the ten years that we have been operating it has seen a lot of changes & developments to its structure. We are most associated with the long list of diverse musical talent which has emerged through the various projects and workshops taking place over the years. We recently opened a new youth centre in Wigan town centre, it was opened in November 2013 and has the following:
We now operate mainly as a provider of an Alternative Curriculum for schools and has been given the opportunity to become an official NOCN body (National Open College Network). This enables young people who come through Harmony to receive accreditations for their hard work which earn them ‘credits’ which are nationally recognised and can help get them into college/further education. Harmony Media Centre now plays host to three diverse departments which all handle different activities, projects & workshops : ‘B-Muzik’, ‘Venus Project’ & ‘Fit For Life’.
Harmony and all its departments are always looking for dedicated volunteers to help run the various projects and activities which take place both in and outside the Centre. It is a great chance to get first-hand experience of dealing with young people and being in a working environment. We offer a variety of flexible volunteer placements.
We also award Certificates to our volunteers which would be an excellent addition to their CV/Record Of Achievement. If you think you know someone who has what it takes to be a Youth Worker then why not get in contact with us and make it happen!
